ECSA Classic/Classic Plus Soccer

ECSA Classic Program

The Classic Program is designed for players who have desire a higher level of ability within their age group and gender and who have expressed a commitment to play the game of soccer.  The commitment for Classic program is less than the Elite program however; it is more than Rec program.  The program will continue to foster growth in skills and desire for further development. Playing time is not equal however everyone is guaranteed playing time.  We understand there are multi-sport athletes; if you play other sports please contact your coach to discuss.

Practices:

Classic teams will practice year-round however generally there may be downtime in November, December and July.  Practices will include coach/club training, goal keeper training and strength and agility training.  Training will be both indoor & outdoor held at Grignon Park or Kaukauna area school facilities.

Players will receive developmental evaluations and feedback throughout the year.  This is an important feature of the coach-player-parent relationship as the program focus is on player development.

Practice expectations are as follows:

  • 2-3  1.5 -hour practices per week (spring: Jan- June, fall: Aug – Nov)
  • Optional 1.5-2-hour practice per week (winter: Nov - Dec)

Games/Tournaments:

Classic teams will play in East Central league as well as tournaments.  The purpose of the tournaments is to provide players with exposure to regional teams.  Tournaments may require travel and hotel expenses.  These are in addition to any club fees and will be the responsibility of the player’s families.

Game/Tournament expectations are as follows:

  • 1 game per week in fall and/or spring – up to a total of 16 league games per year.
  • Games in the fall will be on the weekend.
  • Games in the spring will be during the week.
  • 2 total tournaments (1 fall and 1 spring).  Coach/Team have the option to do more if they so choose.
  • Tournaments will be on the weekends.

At the Classic level the player is expected to be at practices, games and tournaments.

ECSA Classic Plus Program

Soccer in the Fox Valley has been growing in popularity and skill level over the past several years. We have groups of players who as they get older are looking for more development and commitment.  Electric City is always working to ensure that every player has what they need to develop into the soccer player they want to become.

We have added a new option for players who are looking to grow their skills through additional practice and dedicated coaching.  This new program will be called Classic Plus.  Classic Plus players will be asked to commit more to practicing and teams could practice as much as two to three times per week in season, and 1-2 times per week in the offseason.  This program uses a similar practice model to the Elite teams, but will not play at a higher competition level either in East Central or State League.

Teams will have a dedicated coach, not a volunteer, who will run the practices and coach games.  Cost for the program will be higher than the current Classic in order to get the dedicated coach and additional practice time.  This will allow the players to receive the focus they need to grow.

We are excited to provide this new opportunity to our Electric City players and are looking forward to their growth in the coming years.
